Message from Sonya McGuire, CEO & Founder

We are excited to announce a groundbreaking initiative that reflects our commitment to shaping not only our future, but also the future of generations to come.

When I began my career as a teenager working as a Computer Programmer for IBM on the 3270 mainframe, I never could have imagined that I would one day lead a successful international college in the fields of IT, Telecommunications, and Media.

Over the past 30 years, I have witnessed how rapid technological changes have transformed the world around us, and I am now thrilled to embark on a new journey focused on the future of space exploration and education.

Today, I am proud to announce that our new company is investing in the advancement of science and technology education through the "Log on to Mars" project. This initiative will support the development of an innovative education program in science, space exploration, and technological innovation, with a focus on data collection and research projects. Our sister company, www.acit.edu.au, will be partnering with us as the official education provider for this initiative.

We are particularly excited by the Australian Government's leadership in collaborating with NASA through its international science and education program. This partnership opens up incredible opportunities to advance space exploration and technology education in both Australia and the United States. The Australian Government's commitment to NASA's Moon to Mars program has already yielded significant progress, and we are eager to build on this momentum.

The "Log on to Mars" project aims to foster the next generation of space professionals by providing a platform for developing the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) skills required for the growing space workforce. By collaborating with educational institutions and industry partners, we aim to nurture the future leaders of space technology and research, benefiting both the United States and Australia.
Star Rider is proud to be working alongside www.acit.edu.au on this exciting venture, which will involve extensive research and data collection for the development of future space workforce skills.

We are also actively exploring collaboration opportunities with both the Australian and U.S. governments, as well as international and Australian space agencies, for the commercial and militarization potential of space exploration.

The "Log on to Mars" Research and Data Collection Project officially commenced in July 2024, marking the beginning of a transformative phase in space research. This project will focus on sustainable space activities that support the economic resilience of the space sector while mitigating potential environmental and social impacts.

Recent research has highlighted the increasing risks associated with the growing volume of space debris, as more satellites and rockets are launched than ever before. This debris poses a threat to active satellites, which provide essential services for our daily lives. Additionally, unsustainable space activities are contributing to light pollution, with satellite constellations leaving visible streaks in our night skies.

The number of space assets in low Earth orbit has more than tripled since 2016, rising from around 2,700 operational objects to 8,700 in 2023. To address these challenges, international forums are working to ensure the safety, stability, and sustainability of outer space activities, including the implementation of the UN Guidelines for the Long-Term Sustainability of Outer Space Activities and the Space2030 Agenda.

As we look toward the future, we must inspire and encourage the next generation of young talent to pursue STEM education.

Star Rider is committed to developing educational projects that engage and inspire young people to become leading innovators and technologists of tomorrow.

Our partnerships with governments and key international allies will help strengthen our educational, business, and community efforts as we move forward.

Dr. Megan Clark AC, Head of the Australian Space Agency, has expressed her enthusiasm for the program, stating, "This initiative is an excellent opportunity for children to engage with STEM education, helping to build the workforce of the future."

We are excited to collaborate with partners across the globe and look forward to the impact this initiative will have on the space industry and the next generation of innovators.
